South Korean Quota System
The South Korean Quota of film has been in place since 1967, to make sure people were viewing South Korean cinema. Up until the 1990s, the nation was not doing so well in making capital funds. However, since the new wave, the quality of films were improving drastically, meaning they could make the capital funds for the film industry.
In 2006, the South Korean government reduced its film quota from 146 days to 73 days. And due to the free trade agreement between South Korea and America, it was agreed that there would be no change from 73 days. This was agreed on April 2nd, 2007.
